About the wedding

We're getting married at Can Campolier, a beautiful 17th-century Catalan estate just 1.5km from Lake Banyoles. It’s one of our absolute favourite places, and it’s also where we got engaged!

The estate sits on 35 acres of olive groves and wheat fields, with amazing views of Rocacorba and the Pyrenees just across the water. We couldn't think of a better backdrop for the intimate wedding we’ve been dreaming of, shared with our closest family and friends.

As a lot of you know, we’ve spent so much time in and around Girona and Banyoles over the past five years. We really hope you can join us for our special day, soak up some Spanish summer sun, and see for yourselves why we love this part of the world so much.

Location

Can Campolier is located in Porqueres, just outside Banyoles, around 20 Km north of Girona. The two nearest airports are Girona and Barcelona, both offering direct flights from Bristol and Manchester.

For the simplest experience, and to allow you to explore the surrounding area, we recommend travelling by car as the venue is located in a fairly rural area. However, public transport is also available.

Getting here

By Car:

Car hire is available at Girona and Barcelona airport, as well as from Girona bus station if you'd rather get the Bus into Girona first.

There is ample parking at the venue, though please note there are no EV charging supplies on site, so bear that in mind if hiring an Electric car. There are public chargers available on the C-66 into Girona and probably many others.

It an approximate 30 minute drive from Girona airport, or 1hr 30 minutes from Barcelona Airport

By Bus:

There are direct buses into Girona from Girona and Barcelona airport. The Girona airport bus takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around €4 per person/return, running around once an hour. Buses from Barcelona airport take around 1.5 hours.

You can get a bus to Banyoles from Girona, getting on at the main bus station or next to the Correos building on Avinguda de Ramon Folch. The bus will take you to the centre of Banyoles, were you will either need to get a taxi, or complete the remaining 2.5km by foot.

By Taxi:

There are plenty of taxi's available at both airports, though taxi's from Barcelona are prohibitively expensive, expect to pay in excess of €150/each way. Taxi's from Girona airport are more reasonable, and local rate caps are in place. Expect to pay €35-40/each way

There are no lift-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft operating in Girona

Frequently Asked Questions

There is a restaurant on-site which will be serving breakfast (included with accommodation) on the day of, and day after the wedding. We will also be hosting:

  • Night Before: A welcome BBQ.
  • Wedding Day: A light lunch before the ceremony, followed by the main wedding meal.

Soft and hot drinks will be provided across the three days. Any additional food or alcoholic drinks can be purchased from the on-site restaurant.

While we absolutely adore your little ones, capacity limitations mean that we are unable to accommodate children. We hope you understand and are able to take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy some time together!

There is no strict dress code for the wedding—we just want you to be comfortable. If you want to take the opportunity to get dressed up, please do, but if you're happier in shorts and a polo shirt, that is also fine!

Footwear note: The ground at the venue is largely cobbles, grass, or gravel paths, so please bear that in mind when choosing footwear.

There is ample parking available at Can Campolier. We recommend hiring a car if you plan to explore the beautiful Costa Brava region during your stay.

There are plenty of options both on-site and off-site to help you relax and explore:

  • On-site: A 17-metre pool is available for everyone to use, an on-site sauna, and yoga or massage services (booking required).
  • Off-site:Banyoles Lake is just 1.5km away with a dedicated swimming area. There are also hundreds of kilometres of Catalonia's finest roads and gravel tracks, including the famous Rocacorba climb.

We know how much of an ask it is to attend our wedding, and so we mean it when we say that we are so grateful for your presence and are not asking for gifts.

If you still wish to contribute, we would be incredibly grateful for an addition to our honeymoon fund.

Family will be staying in the main house. However, there is an additional villa on site (Can Benet) consisting of 5 en-suite rooms, with a shared kitchen, living area, and garden. Rooms are available for £250 for both nights, including breakfast.

These rooms are available on a first-come-first-served basis. If you would like to reserve one of these rooms, please contact Emily or David as soon as possible.

If you are around on the day before, or the day after the wedding, any help to setup and take down the wedding decorations would be greatly appreciated!

We'd love to display a board of photos highlighting the great times that we have spent with you. Please send Emily your favourite photo of one or both of us that makes you smile!
